The “Data Centre Index 2013” report analyses and evaluates the main risk factors that could threaten the management of data centres in 30 countries worldwide, providing statistical evaluations on the activities of individual States based on total figures of various risk indicators. SWITZERLAND HAS BEEN RANKED 11th.
The transfer of personal data from European Union countries to third countries is prohibited (Article 25, paragraph 1 of Directive 95/46 EC) unless the country ensures an “adequate” level of protection. The committee has the power to ensure such compliance (Article 25, paragraph 6 of Directive 95/46 EC).
With the resolution no. 37 dated 17 October 2011 in Italy, the guarantor for the protection of personal data, considering the adequate level of protection provided by Switzerland, authorises the transfer of personal data from Italy to the Swiss Confederation.
